Free State Capitol

Project: Fundraising Campaign

Purpose: Create a visual identity for the campaign in order to relay value and significance towards the cause. The Free State Capitol is a location in Topeka, KS, where the state took a stand and created an antislavery Constitution that would pave the way for equality and freedom in America. Funds were needed to continue renovating this historical location and thus a campaign was launched to educate and inform others about this significance with the goal of gaining future funding to ensure the renovation of the space and the legacy of Kansas as a free state.

Process: I combined classic American colors, visuals and typefaces with a modern layout to create a look and feel that would evoke both patriotic and contemporary impressions. In doing this, my goal was to blend the history with a real relevance and place in our world today in the hopes of igniting change and investment into the mission of Free State Capitol.
